Sponsorships Available for 8 Countries in 1 Day

May 18, 2026 | News, Adults, Family Fun, Kids, Personal Enrichment, Teen

The DeKalb Public Library is pleased to announce that we will hold our eleventh annual “8 Countries in 1 Day” celebration on Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

In 2025, we hosted performances by Xochitl-Quetzal Aztec Dance and Indian Dance School, held a Masquerade Ball in Italy, played Dinifri in Morocco, gobbled down pineapple cake in Taiwan, and much more! Participants who visited each country were entered into a raffle to win one of many prizes.

This year, the library is again partnering with the NIU Center for Southeast Asian Studies and NIU International Student Affairs to host booths and help us create this memorable and exciting event. Our community partnerships help make this event provide more authentic representations of the countries we showcase each year. This year, in celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, we will feature Colonial America as one of our 8 countries.

How would YOU like to sponsor this community event? Please help us make this year’s event even more memorable by becoming a sponsor. A donation of $150 or more will help us pay for food, crafts, decorations, and activities. Sponsors will be listed on the library’s website, “8 Countries” brochures, day-of “passports”, and in publicity releases about the program. Sponsors are also welcomed to provide the library with informational handouts to give away during the event at our sponsor booth.

To sponsor this event, please contact Samantha Hathaway at [email protected] or at (815) 756-9568 ext. 1701.

Please contact us by August 1 to ensure that your logo and business name will be included in our marketing.

We hope that you consider sponsoring this fun, multi-cultural event. And whether you become a sponsor or not, please consider this letter an invitation to come celebrate the cultures of Iceland, Sweden, Latvia, and many others during “8 Countries in 1 Day” on September 19. We hope to see you there!
