This monthly newsletter is shared with DeKalb Language Arts teachers who serve grades 6-8. We put it on our website for all to be aware of the fun the library has planned for middle school students.

Some highlights in September are a Paint Pour activity on September 10 to provide art to decorate the new Teen Lounge, which is what we call the new area at the end of the teen corridor which has our books and magazines for grades 7 and up.
NIU STEM Café is now for families! Teens and their families are welcome to come to the library to learn about STEM and sports on September 15, chat with experts, do hands-on activities, and eat pizza!
How about a book discussion and activity group, and teens are in charge? We got it, and it’s called THRASH (teen-held reading and social hang-out) on September 8, and the subject is favorite mysteries!
