Our June Display Case has been set up by the DeKalb County Master Gardeners!
The 2026 DeKalb Master Gardeners Annual Garden Walk is right around the corner, and tickets go on sale today, June 15! This year, seven home gardens and one educational spotlight garden are featured in this walk, located in DeKalb, Sycamore, and Kingston. It’s an amazing opportunity to find inspiration, ask questions, and enjoy the beautiful garden spaces that our neighbors have created.
If you enjoy gardening and want to learn to share your gardening knowledge, the Master Gardener program may be for you. All you need is an interest in gardening, an open mind, and a willingness to share your knowledge with others. The task of the Master Gardeners is to share unbiased, reliable, research-based information with home landscapers and gardeners. Another vital function is to encourage young people to enjoy the pleasures of flower and vegetable growing.
Visit the Master Gardeners’ website to find more information about recommended native plants for your home garden, and learn about how to become a Master Gardener yourself!
Current or aspiring green thumbs can also attend our upcoming gardening events here at the library, including Landscaping with Flowers on June 17, and the Produce Swap Kick-Off and Seed Saving Workshop in July.
