We are over a month into Summer Reading! Great job to all who have participated and even completed the challenge. To those who have not, there is still time! Sign-up and read at least 10 hours by August 12 to win cool prizes and a chance at winning one of the grand prizes. For more information about summer reading and how to sign-up, check out this post.
10-Hour Prizes
After reading 10 hours, you will receive:

20-Hour Prizes
After reading 20 hours, you will receive:
- free book of your choice from our selection

25-Hour Prizes
After reading 20 hours, you will receive:
- $25.00 gift card for There’s Fun In Store
30-Hour Prizes
After reading 30 hours, you will receive:
- free book of your choice from our selection
- (DeKalb Public Library cardholders ONLY) entry into the grand prize drawing of your choice
40-Hour through 80-Hour Prizes
After reading 40 hours (and every 10 hours after, up to 80 hours), you will receive:
- free book of your choice from our selection

Prizes are available June 1 – August 19 (while supplies last). All prizes should be picked up in the Teen Room.
The Teen Room is located on the 1st floor of the library in the old Haish Building.
Each time you earn a free book, you will receive a “FREE BOOK” slip which you will redeem by choosing a book from our prize book selection. Prize books are on the tables outside the Teen Room. Turn in your slip once you have chosen a book. If you do not like any of the Teen book prizes, you can choose one from children’s prize books upstairs and turn your slip in at the Youth Services Desk.
Weekly Prize Drawings
Every Wednesday, we do a drawing for a free water bottle! The winners are chosen randomly from among teens who have read at least 30 minutes.
The stainless steel bottle keeps drinks hot for 5 hours and cold for 15 hours. Leak-proof locking cap. Double-wall construction, vacuum insulated. Stainless steel with stainless steel liner. Holds 17oz. 10″ tall.
Vinny’s Pizza Drawings
On August 13, there will be a drawing for Vinny’s Pizza $25 gift cards. Two winners will be randomly chosen from among teens who have finished the summer reading challenge (read 10 hours).
