We’re thrilled to announce that our After-hours Concert Series is about to begin! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and 94.9 WDKB, each performance is free and open to all ages.
We have more than a dozen performances planned for 2026 and the beginning of 2027, featuring genres ranging from honky-tonk, ragtime, and jazz to world music ensembles showcasing steelpan, berimbau, Mexican band and mariachi traditions, Middle Eastern melodies, and Korean drums. Each show is an opportunity to all in love with a new musical genre.
Many of the concerts will also include food and beverage options offered by businesses including Whiskey Acres Distilling Co., Class VI Wine Bar, The Greenhouse Cafe, The Treehouse Pie Company, Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck, and more! Additional food and beverage details will be announced and upated when available.
Each of these exciting ensembles will perform in our Main Lobby, and every show is free and open to the public.
The first concert in the series will be this Friday, June 5, when the Pangelic steelpan and harp duo will perform an eclectic program consisting of musical styles from around the world; these will include classical, calypso, choro, bossa nova, and jazz standards. The duo will be joined by 18-year-old multi-instrumentalist Jaden Teague-Nunez, who will provide rhythmic accompaniment on the cajón—a box-shaped Afro-Peruvian percussion instrument.
Find all the details in our new After-hours Concert Series booklet, available in the library. Stop by any time and pick up your copy, or explore the full booklet below!
