Today the library is open from: 9am-6pm

Learn about fun things to do for teens to do at the library! We have a space dedicated to teens in grades 6-12 with video games, study rooms, and books. Come by for crafts, games, book discussions, and other fun activities.

The Teen collection focuses on teen fiction, graphic novels, and manga. If you are looking for some new titles our teen librarians will talk with you to get an idea of your taste and make a recommendation.

The library is interested in your input – suggest a book series that you really love, or give us an idea for a fun program. You can also bring your ideas and enthusiasm about your library to a monthly meeting of TAG (Teen Advisory group) where you get to be the boss of all things “Teen.”

There are rules to follow in the Teen Room, which were created in cooperation with DeKalb teens. We offer one warning for misbehavior. The decision to act appropriately is up to you. Consequences for misbehavior include being asked to leave the library–whether for the rest of the day or for a longer period of time. Everyone is expected to treat each other and the space with respect.

Tweens, if you are looking for an arts & crafts program, we have “Craftastics,” for you. If you are ages 10-12, or in grades 5th-6th, join us every other month, on a Tuesday, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., in the Story and Activity Room.

“Art & Design,” for ages 13-18, or in grades 7th-12, is a creative workshop which brings together traditional and new art forms and explores different types of design and focuses on learning an art technique in depth. This program meets every other month, from 7:00-8:30 p.m.,
