Hay muchos adultos en la comunidad que hablan inglés como segunda lengua. ¡No es un idioma fácil de aprender! La biblioteca tiene una gran variedad de recursos para ayudar a cualquier persona de la comunidad que esté aprendiendo inglés o quiera mejorar su pronunciación, vocabulario o gramática.
A partir de septiembre, la biblioteca ofrecerá un curso de 16 semanas de inglés como segunda lengua (ESL) de nivel intermedio. Las clases serán todos los jueves de 6:00pm a 8:00pm. Mejora tu conocimiento del inglés y siéntete más cómodo hablando en situaciones cotidianas. Practica conceptos básicos de gramática inglesa en conversaciones, aprende a hacer y responder preguntas, amplía tu vocabulario y aprende a comprender los sonidos del inglés hablado.
Esta clase está dirigida a participantes adultos con un nivel de inglés hablado intermedio bajo o superior, pero todos son bienvenidos. La clase es gratis. Si prefiere aprender con audios, prueba “Curso Completo Inglés nivel Básico”. Es un set de CD que te permitirá aprender inglés básico escuchando y repitiendo. Incluye un libro de instrucciones y un diccionario español/inglés.

There are a lot of adults in the community who speak English as a second language. It’s not an easy language to learn! The library has a variety of resources to help anyone in the community who is learning English or wants to improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, or grammar.
Starting in September, the library will offer a 16-week class in Intermediate ESL. It will take place every Thursday from 6pm – 8pm. Improve your knowledge of English and become more comfortable speaking in everyday situations. Practice basic English grammar concepts in conversation, learning how to ask and answer questions, expanding your vocabulary, and learning to understand the sounds of spoken English.
This class is intended for adult participants at a low intermediate level of speaking English or higher, but all are welcome to attend. There is no cost for this class. We also offer one-on-one English tutoring. Sit down with a teacher who can focus specifically on the things you want to improve. To sign up for tutoring, fill out this form on our website. Our English tutoring is free.

The library owns a series of books called English for Everyone. It includes lessons for all levels, from the very beginner to the advanced English-speaker. Each book has hundreds of worksheets on different subjects to fill out and help you put your lessons into context. On the website listed in the book, you can access audio files to hear the words you’re learning.
For Spanish speaker English learners, we have books like Inglés Fluido ¡Sin Acento! These books give instruction in Spanish to make it a little easier for the learner. They include access to an app for your computer, tablet, or smartphone to practice wherever you are!
If you’re an audio learner, try Curso Completo Inglés nivel Básico. It’s a set of CDs that lets you learn basic English by listening and repeating. It includes an instructional book and a Spanish/English dictionary.
