Teen Summer Reads

Jul 21, 2025 | Books with All the Feels, Geek Sauce, Teen

Even though there’s only three weeks of summer left, that’s still plenty of time to register for summer reading and win great prizes! Are you stuck on what to read next? Here’s a few books set during summer that could be your next summer read:

Going Bicoastal by Dahlia Adler  Natalya Fox is stuck between two very different possibilities for her summer: staying home in New York with her dad (and spending more time with the girl she has a crush on) on or visiting her mom in Los Angeles and trying to repair their relationship.  Lucky for her, she has the chance to see how both possibilities play out in alternate realities including exploring more of L.A. and crushing on a boy she meets.

Crash Landing by Li Charmaine Anne Jay Wong is spending her summer between junior and senior years skateboarding and hoping for something to break up the boredom. Luckily, she meets Ash Chan who’s an even better skater than her and quickly agrees to help her make skate videos. Ash shows her a different side of the city and Jay develops a crush on her, but Ash also has a mysterious past that Jay is desperate to figure out.

Recommended Reading by Paul Coccia  Bobby has big plans for the summer after his high school graduation. Mainly, landing his dream job at his favorite bookstore and winning over his dream guy (who happens to work at that bookstore) with a public declaration of love. But it goes viral for the wrong reasons and he’s stuck working at his uncle’s shabby bookstore. Still, his knack for recommending books gains him followers and the chance to build a friendship with the seemingly anti-romantic lifeguard Luke.

The Last Love Song by Kalie Holford Mia’s Mom is a country star who abandoned her to be raised by her grandmothers. Mia is afraid to leave her small town and even more afraid of being like her mother, but also doesn’t want her more ambitious kind-of-sort of girlfriend Britt to leave her. She starts discovering letters and clues her mother left her that may hold clues to her past and her future.

The Getaway List by Emma Lord Years ago, Riley and her childhood best friend Tom made up the Getaway List: a list of all the adventures they wanted to go on in New York City after he moved there.  After a dull high school experience and feeling emotionally distant from Tom, she decides to spend her summer after graduation reconnecting with him and completing the Getaway List.

Never vacation with Your Ex by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka Between constant training, a busy social media presence and big expectations, high school volleyball star Kaylee Jordan is ready to relax. Her family’s annual vacation in Malibu with family friends, the Freeman-Yus seems perfect for that. Unfortunately, this year, she just recently broke up with Dean Freeman-Yu, which makes things awkward. To cut the tension, she takes the high-risk, high-reward strategy of trying to teach him rules for getting over your ex.
