The Big Read of DeKalb County is coming back for another year! This is our eighth consecutive grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. We received $15,000 to read and celebrate “A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. LeGuin!

Our kick-off event will be Saturday, October 4th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the DeKalb High School. We will have a grand Fantasy Festival with interactive exhibits, demonstrations from NIU STEM, music from Dan the Bard, mystical face painting and of course, free giveaways of our Big Read book.
