For this month’s Author highlight, we will be talking about Kate DiCamillo!
Kate DiCamillo grew up in Florida, where she earned an English degree from the University of Florida. She later moved to Minnesota, where she worked in various positions until she published her first book “Because of Winn-Dixie” which quickly became a hit!
Kate DiCamillo is an American children’s fiction author who has published over 25 novels including many fan favorites like The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Ferris, and the Mercy Watson series. Many of her works have been recipients of awards including the Newberry Medal for Because of Winn-Dixie, The Tale of Despereaux, and Flora & Ulysses.
She lives in Minneapolis and continues to write. Get ready for her next book: “The Hotel Balzaar” which will be published on October 1st 2024!
