Vote for Your Favorite Children’s Book Award Nominees

Jan 28, 2021 | Kids, News, Reading Romp!

Every year, children get to select the winners of Illinois state children’s book awards, including the Monarch Award (for listeners and readers in kindergarten through 3rd grade), the Bluestem Award (for readers in 3rd-5th grade), and the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers’ Book Award (for readers in 4th-8th grade).

Click the links below to download and view the lists of books nominated for these three awards.

Click the links in these lists to find the books in the library’s online catalog (for physical copies) or in electronic resources hoopla, and OMNI (for eBooks and eAudiobooks). From there, you can borrow or place holds on any of the titles you’re interested in.

The minimum number of award-nominated books that you need to have read (or listened to) in order to be eligible to vote is either five books (for the Monarch award) or three books (for the Bluestem and Caudill awards). Contact your school to find out how you can vote for your favorite!
