Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the DeKalb Public Library! We appreciate and value the time and effort given by our volunteers to serve our community.  We are always accepting applications for new volunteers. The library strives to place every applicant; however, volunteer opportunities are limited. Potential volunteers will be contacted as opportunities become available and scheduled as needed.

The library is not able to provide placements for court-ordered volunteer service.  Potential volunteers will be subject to a criminal background check before being placed for volunteer service.

Large groups or organizations looking for one-time service opportunities or anyone with questions about volunteering should email the Business Manager directly at [email protected]

Note: Middle school and high school students must apply for volunteer service through the library’s VolunTeen program.
