DKPL Story Times are moving back inside the library this week! We’ve got a new schedule and some exciting new programs we think you will love!
Our Story Time Programs
Book Babies
suggested age: 0-24 months
A fun, engaging story time focused on our youngest friends. Quick stories, songs, finger plays and other fun, along with opportunities to learn about early literacy practices that work just as well at home!
Preschool Story Time
suggested age: 3-5 years
At the same time as Book Babies to provide older siblings with an age appropriate activity of their own while caregivers attend the program with babies. This story time will have a different theme each week, with stories, time for discussion about the theme, songs and fun, and more. Every Preschool Story Time in a given week follows the same program, so no need to attend more than one (unless it was so great you’re ready for a repeat!).

On Our Own Storytime
suggested age: 3-5 years
This new story time follows the same program as our other Preschool Story Times, but allows caregivers the option to drop off children at the Story and Activity Room. Caregivers are then free to explore the rest of the children’s department, play with younger children in the Tree Room, or socialize with others outside the room. Story Time lasts 30 minutes.
Musical Mornings
suggested age: up to 5 years
Music Therapist Angie Carter presents a program for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers featuring singing, dancing, instruments, and fun.

Toddler Time
suggested age: 18-36 months
A new story time that will be every other Friday opposite Musical Mornings. With shorter stories, songs, fun and games, and more to engage with younger minds and shorter attention spans!
