The DeKalb Public Library’s summer reading program for children, teens, and adults kicks-off on Monday, June 6th featuring the action-packed game theme “Read for the Win”.   The program is for any age group, beginning from birth to adults. Rewards for meeting goals include free books, sports & gaming prizes, a chance for the teens to win a Kindle Fire, and a chance for the adults to win a special prize! Online reading logs will be available for those who want to start right away at home.

All of the regular children’s programs will all tie into sports themes. They will also have special events which include a Minecraft program, ooey, gooey science activities, a super dog show, worm races, a balloon show, and more. Children will be able to participate in this summer reading program by listening to or reading books throughout the summer. Adults may sign up their children in the Youth Services department on the second floor.   There are four groups of readers and listeners, beginning with babies!  We end our summer reading program by having a HUGE Harry Potter Party on Saturday, July 30th!
