DeKalb Public Library’s newest book club is coming Friday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. Wanting to try something new, something you enjoy doing? Try DKPL’s Cook Book Club! This new book club will invite readers and cooks alike to try new recipes, taste one of the dishes during our meetings, rate the book/recipe, and write up a review for this newsletter! Each month we will try different cook book varieties; from Italian hearty meals to light gluten-free recipes. Everyone will come with suggestions, different variations, and have a good time.
Our first cookbook will be Mario Batali’s Farm to Table: Simple, Delicious Recipes Celebrating Local Farmers. Mario Batali, who knows the importance of ingredients to any amazing dish, sees farmers as the rock stars of the food world. In this new book he celebrates American farmers: their high quality products and their culture defined by hard work, integrity, and pride. Batali asked his chef friends from Nashville, Tennessee, to San Francisco, to tell him who their favorite farmers were, and those farmers graciously shared their personal stories along with their top-of-the-line produce and products. –Review by Amazon
Books are available for checkout in the library. For this first meeting, please commit to trying at least one recipe from the book and come prepared to rate the recipe and to tell us about the result!
