On Saturday, November 14, the DeKalb Public Library hosted the virtual event, “Connection, Linking the Medieval Days to our Modern World.”

In this virtual edu-tainment adventure, singer/songwriter/historian Barry Cloyd traveled back to the days of knights and chivalry. We learned how the discoveries and inventions of that most misunderstood of time periods, the Middle Ages, have made a major impact on our lives today. Cloyd touched on many important periods of Middle Ages history and utilized various musical instruments, both well-known and obscure, to animate the period music in this program. You’ll never look at ancient history the same way again.

This program is funded by a donation made in memory of Betty Rhoades.
