Virtual Workshop: 3D Impossible Table
Wednesday August 19 @ 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Join us as we learn to navigate Tinkercad, a free, web-based 3D design program. This week we will be creating the impossible table. It is a sort of hanging table where tension forces are used to keep the table upright and balanced instead of compression forces on standard legs. The end result is an object that seems to defy gravity. The impossible table demonstrates the principle of tensegrity, which allows a structure to be able to be stable by a balance of the tension and compression forces. After the class, the Impossible Tables will be printed and available for pick-up within a few days to weeks dependent on the number of program attendees.
