Virtual Tour of Costa Rica: San Jose
Saturday February 12 @ 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM
It may be cold in Illinois, but it’s nice and sunny down in beautiful Costa Rica! The library hosts a series of virtual tours of Costa Rica. These tours are in real time, with a guide who is happy to take questions from our virtual audience while showing us the sights.
Into the city of San Jose we go! This tour mixes history with nature as we begin in the famous Central Market, where you will “visit” medicinal plant stalls. From there, we’ll pass through old buildings of the city and learn about the history, culture, traditions, and architecture of these places. The second half of the tour takes us through urban parks, where you will learn about different types of trees and vegetation and their uses. Experience first-hand how Costa Ricans go about their daily business.
This virtual event is free and open to all. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Please register for this event to attend on Zoom.
