JoJo is a feisty Ojibwe first grader. She’s convinced her Mom is going to like the pot holder she made from her old socks and that “touch” rhymes with “couch.” In The Used-to-be Best Friend, JoJo’s best friend Fern doesn’t seem to want to be her best friend anymore. Can JoJo find a new best friend?
JoJo Makoons: The Used-to-be Best Friend is our Bookworm Barbs book for September. Bookworm Barbs is our book club for students in K-2. We read shorter chapter books with lots of pictures. Older first and second grade students may be able to read on their own, but the books also make a nice family read aloud, too.
Bookworm Barbs is a book party! Not only will we talk about the book, we’ll enjoy a snack and do a craft, too.
Pick up a copy of the book at the Children’s Department Desk while supplies last.
