B.A.R.B. Virtual Book Club (Books Are Really Brilliant)
Tuesday October 13 @ 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Join us for the B.A.R.B (Books Are Really Brilliant) book club! B.A.R.B. is a special place for 3rd-5th graders. We welcome all readers—those who love to read and those whose parents made them participate. (Parents, this would be a great enrichment activity during this crazy school year!)
In October we’ll be discussing Love, Sugar, Magic: A Dash of Trouble. Leo’s Mexican American, and her family owns a local panadería that bakes delicious treats, especially for Día de los Muertos. This isn’t an ordinary bakery, though. Leo learns her older sisters and her mother are actually putting spells in the baking! Of course Leo wants to try and do some magical baking too., but it doesn’t go quite like she planned.
This book is available for free as an eBook on Hoopla, and there aren’t a limited number of copies, so everyone can read it. You can also use the library’s free inter-library loan service to get a print copy.
Please register for this event. Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link and password to a Zoom meeting. Join the meeting 5 minutes prior to the program, especially if you haven’t used Zoom before. This program has a limit of 8 participants.
