Would your stuffed animal friend like to sleep over at the library? If so, register at the Youth Services Desk. Drop-off day for the 25 participants will be Friday, February 3.
Please do not register any stuffed animal friends your child cannot sleep without.
Stuffed animal friends will be photographed during their night at the library, so you can see what shenanigans they were up to during your night apart! When you pick up your friend on Saturday, February 4, you will also get a package of photos. Pick up begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Orange juice will be served between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
This free program is intended for children. Registration is required, as space is limited.

Does your child or tween play some of the popular games like Minecraft, Fortnite, or Roblox? Are you aware that these games and many more have an element of skill sets that are beneficial to their development via education and potential career paths? Through video games we will be extracting those skill sets with professional gamer and Head E-sports Coach for Kishwaukee College, Matthew Hixon, while simultaneously having fun.
This program is for ages 7-14. Registration is advised, as space is limited, but walk-in spaces may be available on the day of the event. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the DeKalb Public Library.

Explore facets of electrical engineering with a variety of experiments. This event, intended for students in grades 2-5, is led by volunteers from the Society of Women Engineers. K-1 students welcome if accompanied by a parent. This event is first come, first served as space is limited.
Facilitators: Sahara Becker (Tech Support Manager at McMaster-Carr, Society of Women Engineers SWENext Programs Committee Chair Elect), Rosana Fernandez (Society of Women Engineers), and Michael Cha (Data Scientist, John Deere).

Celebrate National Pokémon Day and our kick-off event to our monthly Pokémon Club! We will do Pokémon related crafts, talk about teams and moves, and have a show & tell about your favorite Pokémon.
Learn about the upcoming monthly club, which will be on the second Wednesday of each month, beginning March 8th. During Pokémon Club, you will discover how to be a Pokémon trainer! You will learn how to train & battle your Pokémon, learn interesting things about your Pokémon, learning about different moves, make battle mats, and prepare for battle.
This club is intended for ages 5-13. No registration is required.
