The 1859 plat book is the oldest known map of the City of DeKalb. The original leather-bound, hand drawn survey includes detailed maps of the Kishwaukee River and downtown DeKalb. The plat book was discovered in the library’s storage area in 2004. In addition to this digitized version, a facsimile of the plat book can be viewed in the library’s Local History collection. |
