An event every 2 weeks that begins at 12:00pm on Monday, repeating until July 23, 2018

Parents need you to get out of the house? The library needs volunteers! Most teens need service hours to graduate. Sign up to be a Volunteen. You help out the library you know and love! What do Volunteens do? You will learn how to clean books and edge books, help get ready for programs, pick books for displays, assist during large programs. You can work in groups with your friends, this is not a silent activity, though library rules apply.…

Homeschool Palooza: Vendor Fair

Are you a homeschooler or perhaps someone looking for more information on homeschooling? Or are you a parent looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon? Then check out the DeKalb Homeschoolpalooza! This homeschool fair will include a full roster of events, including workshops on starting homeschooling and homeschooling high school, several activities run by local businesses, FREE mini guitar lessons by Axe in Hand, an open Q&A/demonstration on 3D design in the Nancy D. Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading with a party!  Culver's of Sycamore will provide FREE custard (while supplies last), and all ages can enjoy live music and participate in a variety of activities including games, balloon twisting, and face painting.  Summer reading raffle prize winners will also be announced at this event. The Roots of Folk Concert

Barry Cloyd is a touring singer, songwriting, multi-instrumentalist, and historian. Join us for this one-of-a-kind educational and historical presentation with guitar and banjo music! Barry will play Multi-Instrumental/Americana/Roots music that includes Blues, Folk, Celtic & Originals in this after-hours concert in the library’s main lobby. Authors Fair

Learn about the recent publications of area authors from the writers themselves. The library’s main lobby will be filled with local authors showcasing their works and answering questions throughout the day. Eight authors will provide a brief presentation in the Yusunas Meeting Room during the event. Listen to excerpts from their books, ask questions, and interact with each author.
