Teen & Local History Room Hours

The Teen Room is open for anyone in school grades 6 – 12th. Teens will need their own DeKalb library card (in good standing order) or District #428 school I.D. to use the internet computers, tablets, study rooms, and video games.  There are board games, books, audiobooks, teen Spanish books, non-fiction, book club books, chalk walls, dry erase walls, and several outlets for charging devices available for teen use.  

Teen Room Hours: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 – 9:00 p.m.; Friday, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The Local History Room features a microfilm reader, genealogy databases, and a multitude of local history archives.  If you need to access the Local History Room when it is not open, please call to make an appointment with Teresa at 815-756-9568 ext. 2155 or email teresai@dkpl.org.

Local History Room Hours: Monday, 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 9:00 – 5:00 p.m.; Thursday, 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.; Friday, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.; 1st Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
