New English Teacher in the Library Program to Begin in August
Do you know a child, teen, or adult who needs help learning to read, learning to write, or learning to speak English?
The DeKalb Public Library is proud to announce a new program generously sponsored by Target. The purpose of this program is to provide assistance in basic literacy to community members at no cost to them.
Certified English teacher Christine Holloway brings 20 years of experience and a sincere interest in people of all countries and cultures. Beginning August 1st, Ms. Holloway will offer free private and semi-private lessons (friends and family members may share lessons if they wish) to serve children and teens who need help in basic reading and writing, adults who have not yet learned how to read, and anyone who is learning English as a second language.
Time slots in August are as follows:
•Mondays @ 2:00 & 3:00 p.m. (registration)
•Tuesdays @ 6:00 & 7:00 p.m. *August 9th @ 5:00 & 6:00 p.m. (registration)
•Wednesdays @ 2:00 & 3:00 p.m. (registration)
•Thursdays @ 6:00 & 7:00 p.m. (registration)
•Fridays @ 2:00 & 3:00 p.m. (walk-in)
Individuals and small groups are encouraged to sign up for lessons; only a few time slots will be left open every week for walk-ins.
