Our New Year’s Resolution

The DeKalb Public Library’s New Year’s resolution is simple. Get more feedback from you, the public, on how we’re doing.

Beginning in January the library will put into action our new evaluation process. We will focus on program evaluation, customer service, and general library direction. In each area we hope to get a better understanding of what we’re doing right, and what we can do better to improve our patrons’ experience.

After our larger events we will have surveys, both print and electronic, available for patrons to complete. Let us know if you enjoyed the program, if something was missing, or if you have any suggestions for future events. If you have a smart device, simply scan our QR code to give your feedback. Good old-fashioned pen and paper surveys will work, too!

Our goal is for each patron to have a good experience when they come to the library. We want to help you find what you need in a courteous and effective manner. If you have questions we want to provide you with answers. Let us know how we did when checking out at the circulation desk or one of the self-check machines. Scan the QR code, fill out a printed survey, or use the kiosk to submit your responses electronically. Of course, you are always welcome to give verbal feedback as well!

What direction should the library be going in? What new initiatives should we be a part of? Our new “Question of the Month” is your chance to make a difference. Whether it’s about collection development, signage, events, or anything else, let us know what you think. Find our question of the month on our website under “About Us” or in the footer at the bottom of each page.
