Get a bag of books for only a buck! Help us clear out our sale shelves because we're hosting our monthly Buck-a-Bag Book Sale. Fill up a plastic grocery bag or an equivalent with anything from our sale shelves and pay only a dollar. Great deals on library discards as well as recent donations, from children's books to hardcover fiction to AV items -- all these can be yours for just a Buck-A-Bag!
This story time program on Tuesday mornings is geared to 2-year-old children. The program will last approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Children will receive a coloring sheet after the program, which they may color at the library. This week we will be reading about spiders! Older and younger children are welcome to attend.

Islamic Archaeology
Dr. Donald Whitcomb of the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago will discuss Islamic Archaeology, including key sites in Iraq, Syria, Egypt, and Jerusalem. In addition, he has just returned from a dig on the site of Mafjar, near Jericho, and will discuss his findings! (Information on Dr. Whitcomb’s dig in Mafjar can also be found at the Jericho Mafjar Project website.)

The National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association have chosen DeKalb Public Library as one of the recipients of their grant, Bridging Cultures: Muslim Journeys. The program aims to familiarize public audiences in the United States with the people, places, history, faith and cultures of Muslims in the United States and around the world. Included in this grant are a variety of books and films on subjects ranging from religion to literature, art, and history.
Infants through toddler-age children and their parents are invited to join Miss Marti on the dragon carpet for a morning of fun with stories and songs for little ones! This week we will be reading about spiders!
