Get a bag of books for only a buck! Help us clear out our sale shelves because we're hosting our monthly Buck-a-Bag Book Sale. Fill up a plastic grocery bag or an equivalent with anything from our sale shelves and pay only a dollar. Great deals on library discards as well as recent donations, from children's books to hardcover fiction to AV items -- all these can be yours for just a Buck-A-Bag!
Come anytime the library is open during this week and wander the halls of the library to check out the Friends of the DeKalb Public Library's popular booksale! Find great titles for you or gifts for family and friends. All proceeds go to funding library programs, materials and equipment. Volunteers and donations are being accepted. Please contact Jill Cutts at friends@dkpl.org for donation guidelines and volunteer information. And remember most items sell for $1.00 or less!
Travel to a tropical ocean and make brilliantly colored fish just like you would see in those warm waters! This craft is presented in English and Spanish.
Participants listen to a story, see children’s books from Bhutan, and hear music from the region, get to eat red rice, which is a staple in the area. Everyone will receive a dragon bookmark that they can decorate, and a “book” in the shape of a backpack, in which to color pictures or write a story. Sponsored by Kishwaukee College Family Literacy Program.
Add a real seashell to your fish craft to make it colorful and fun!
