Teen Ben Franklin Circle: Industry

March 7, 2018 @ 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

The Dekalb Public Library is joining a 21st-century community-building initiative inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s “club for mutual improvement,” launched more than 200 years ago.

Ben Franklin Circles are dedicated to exploring one of the following virtues: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity, and Humility. This month we will be discussing industry, of which Franklin’s definition is “Lose no time. Be always employed in something useful. Cut off all unnecessary actions.”

This program is FREE and intended for teenagers. Snacks will be provided. No registration is necessary. Teens are welcome to participate in the all-ages Circles as well! Coordinated by Tracy Rogers-Tryba.

For additional information, please contact Samantha at or at (815) 756-9568 ext. 1701.
