Online Course Design for Educators
Wednesday August 12 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
With the uncertainty of what school will look like in the fall semester, many educators are wondering how to organize an online or hybrid learning environment. Amanda Smothers from the NIU Faculty Development Office will be hosting an informational session and Q & A on how to design online and hybrid courses. Topics to be discussed include: how to make an interactive online course, how to gauge participation for an online course, different kinds of online courses, scheduling assignments and due dates for online classes, what a typical week of online teaching looks like, grading practices in online courses, things to consider when teaching during a pandemic, and online course tools.
This program is free. Please register for this event. Once you register you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom meeting, a phone number to call into the Zoom meeting, and a password to the meeting.
