Historical Downtown Walking Tour

Join local historian Steve Bigolin for a free historical walking tour of downtown DeKalb.
Steve will discuss the history of the businesses and the architecture of the buildings that are and were located on Lincoln Highway between 1st and 4th Streets. Learn what historic structures have been or will be replaced by the Cornerstone DeKalb and Plaza DeKalb buildings. Learn why there is a green and yellow wrought iron gate by the old Daily Chronicle building, stop by Isaac Ellwood’s barbed wire factory, and find out what was originally in the McCabe’s Tavern building.
The tour will leave from the lobby of the DeKalb Public Library at 1:00 p.m. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking.
