Eight Countries in One Day
September 7, 2019 @ 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Are you ready for another stamp in your passport? Then join us for our fourth annual “8 Countries in 1 Day” event at the DeKalb Public Library! We’ll provide the passports AND the luggage!
Stroll through Canada and Norway to make your own miniature hockey sticks and enjoy a curling match. Rock to the rhythm of Harambee drums in Zimbabwe. Experience the grace of Thai dancing. Be amazed by the incredible TaeKwonDo performance of South Korea. And much, much more! Other countries featured include Italy, Japan, and Australia.
Each country will have crafts, activities, and food samples available while supplies last. Special performances will be scheduled throughout the event. Programs, “passports,” and “luggage” will be handed out at the welcome table. Visit each country, get your “passport” stamped, and enter for a chance to win a prize! Bring canned goods for additional raffle tickets.
This event is entirely FREE and open to all, no need to register! It is held in conjunction with the NIU Center for Southeast Asian Studies.
