Creative Relationships 101
March 5 @ 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
An event every week that begins at 3:30pm on Monday, repeating until April 2, 2018
Relationships, like art, are creative! No two relationships are the same, but by practicing good communication, boundaries, and consent we can bring more health and happiness to every unique relationship! Creative Relationships 101 is a series of four workshops that will use conversation, games, and art-making to help us explore, understand, and improve connections with friends, family, crushes, classmates, and boos! Workshops are Healthy Relationships, Boundaries and Communication, Consent, and Creative Relationships Wrap Up.
March 5, Workshop I. Healthy Relationships Explore the different types of relationships in our lives, understand how they impact our health and happiness, and define healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics.
March 12, Workshop II. Boundaries & Communication Discover what you want from your relationships, build skills for effective communication, understand boundaries and how to set and respect them.
March 19, Workshop III. Consent Define consent, understand how it works & why it is important, and explore the concept of FRIES: That true consent is Freely Given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, Specific
April 2, Workshop IV. Creative Relationships Wrap Up Review what we have learned and refine our art! We will be assembling what we have created into a Zine to share with our community!
This FREE program is intended for teens in grades 6-8. Registration is not required. Folks will not be admitted into workshops more than 10 minutes after the start time. For additional information, please contact Maggie Mascal at firstname.lastname@example.org or (815) 756-9568 ext. 2150.
