Craig Mathey and Friends Concert

Friday October 9 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Craig Mathey and Friends will be performing live at Katz Park in DeKalb! Join the DeKalb Public Library and Club 55 for this special outdoor concert.

Craig Mathey (keyboards and vocals) has been a life-long Sycamore resident and a musician since age 10. He began his musical career by taking accordion lessons for one year. At the age of 12 he started playing with a gospel group which honed his skills in improvising and ear training. At age 14 he taught himself to play the piano and electronic keyboards and at age 18 joined a pop/country/wedding band call the Dick Sargent Review, until his mid-20’s. Next, Craig formed a duo, with John Huber that performed throughout the area for over 8 years. For the past 20 years, Craig has performed as a soloist on the keyboards, providing dinner and cocktail music at local restaurants, weddings and at special events.

Currently, Craig can be found performing all your favorite styles of music on the piano and singing; pop, country, jazz, blues, and standards with a variety of other local musicians, billed as Craig Mathey and Friends at various venues throughout the area. You can follow his gig dates on their Facebook page.

Phil Eubanks (guitar and vocals) has been playing guitar, singing and writing music professionally for – well just say for a really long time. In his early career he performed as a singer-songwriter in Nashville, TN, where he wrote and recorded music for publishers such as Famous Music and United Artists. In recent years, he has focused on playing for the pure joy of it.

Jim Kemnitz (percussionist) started off playing drums as a teenager with the three time national champion Chicago Royal Airs Drum & Bugle Corps. As an adult, Jim played with The Classic Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps., The Men Of Brass, and The Royal Airs Reunion Corps. Jim also played 12 years with The DeKalb County Fossil Band for the Pumpkin Fest Parade and has been a member of The DeKalb County Fire Dept. Bag Pipe Band for 10 years. Jim has been playing with Craig Mathey & Friends for about ten years

This concert is held in conjunction with the DeKalb Park District. Social distancing is required and masks are encouraged.
