Being an Online Student: How to Navigate the Struggles and Succeed in Your Online Classes
Thursday August 20 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Online learning can be a struggle. From figuring out how to map out your study schedule, how to write and respond in a discussion board knowing your teacher is grading it, to just remembering to get everything done in a week; online learning can be challenging to navigate. Adult Services Specialist Rachel, a NIU Ph.D student and English composition instructor who also suffers from ADHD, shares her tips and tricks on how to be the best online student you can be, while not over-stressing yourself. Topics to be discussed include: time management, how to organize your planner for online courses, self-care and de-stressing, the best ways to stay focused when there are too many distractions, navigating feelings of being overwhelmed, how parents can help support their online learning student and much more!
This session is geared for high school through college, but families of all grade levels are welcome to join as it might still be helpful for navigating the fall semester.
