B.A.R.B. Virtual Book Club (Books Are Really Brilliant)
Tuesday July 21 @ 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Do you miss talking about books with your friends? Join us for our first meeting of the B.A.R.B. book club! This special place is just for YOU, rising 1st-5th graders. We will be reading an exciting book every month and meeting on Zoom to discuss it.
In July we’ll be discussing A Boy Called Bat. Bat’s mom is a vet, and she brings home a baby skunk that lost its mother. Bat falls in love with the sweet baby skunk. Can he convince his mom that he should keep the baby skunk forever? This book is available for free on Hoopla, and there aren’t a limited number of copies, so everyone can read it. Find the e-book here and the audio book here.
Parents, I will try to choose books that have appropriate content for grades 1-5. If you are wondering if this book is a good fit for your child, please read the Common Sense Media review of the book’s content here. This is a chapter book, so younger readers will probably need to either have you read the book to them or listen to the audio book.
Please register for this event. Once you register you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom meeting, a phone number to call into the Zoom meeting, and a password to the meeting. Join the Zoom meeting 5 minutes prior to the program, especially if you haven’t used Zoom before. This program has a limit of 8 participants.
If you have any questions or have trouble getting the book, please contact Laura at firstname.lastname@example.org.
